Asset context

Assets and templates you can drop into a video. Each includes its meaning (what it is and when to use it) and knobs (the controls it exposes), so AI can understand it and use it in an edit. You adjust the knobs on screen and pass the resulting JSON to AI. We call this three-part package asset context. The badges on each card show its license.

Frequently asked questions

Asset context and knobs: here is how this Lab works.

How is this different from other asset sites?

Each asset comes with more than a file. It includes its meaning: what it is, when to use it, and what can change. It also declares its knobs. AI can understand the asset before using it in an edit. We call this asset context.

What is asset context?

Asset + meaning + knobs. To a person, it looks like a normal asset. To AI, it is a component with readable instructions. It is a format that works for both.

What are knobs?

Knobs are the adjustment parameters each asset declares, such as color, speed, text length limits and layout. Adjust them on the asset page, then copy the JSON to give AI the same settings. AI operates those same knobs directly through JSON.

What happens when I use it in AKARI Video?

AKARI Video is an AI-native video editor you direct with natural language. Asset context reaches AI with its meaning and knobs, so you can say, “Use this background with the knobs in this JSON.” Connect your account to see free and purchased assets together in the app. Assets download automatically as you use them. This is where Lab assets work best.

Why is most of it free?

Asset context is most useful when AI can put it to work, so we make standard assets freely available. We charge only for assets that need hands-on human work, such as context involving live footage or physical devices, or assets with particularly high production costs. Free and paid assets meet the same quality standard.

Can I use these without AKARI Video?

Yes, you can use them as regular assets. Connecting to AKARI Video brings free and purchased assets into your library, where AI can access them directly.

Is Lab an asset store?

It is a home for asset context and a place to learn. AKARI Video takes editing instructions in natural language, so knowing its concepts and vocabulary helps you make what you have in mind. Our blog (Japanese) explains those concepts and shares practical lessons from AI video editing and social publishing.

Licenses

Free assets are CC0 or Commercial OK with no credit required. Paid assets have a commercial license that allows use in finished videos, publishing and monetization. Redistribution, resale or mirroring of the asset files themselves is prohibited, as are businesses that resell the assets as their main value, such as asset collections, template collections or rendered clips sold as stock assets. Assets you have downloaded remain licensed to you regardless of later price changes.
